Big Brother 11: Jessie is Back, and He’s HOH!

OMG!! We already knew that there would be cliques in the house and we knew that there would be a mystery houseguest that would join the others. But did it have to be boring, idiotic Jessie?

Tonight was the Big Brother 11 season premiere. Yes, that means that Big Brother After Dark is on again every night for the next three months…woo-hoo!!

We saw the 12 houseguests enter the house and grab beds. Then they tried to introduce themselves a bit. Right away, Julie Chen told them to go to the back yard where they divided into their cliques and underwent their first challenge of the season.

These are the cliques:

Athletes: Jesse Russell Natalie Jeff	Offbeat: Casey Lydia Kevin
Popular: Laura Braden Jordan	Brains: Chima Michele Ronnie

That’s when we found out that there were four former houseguests from other seasons that represented the four cliques in the house. Depending on which clique won, that would decide which former houseguest would enter the house and become the first Head of Household (HOH).

Of all three of he other possible people to enter the house, I would have been happy with any of them besides Jessie, but sadly, he was the one that got back in the house. Yuck! What an egotistical loser! I hope he doesn’t last long!

They had to hang in a “gym” with giant wedgies and hold onto a toilet seat. LOL! The team who had at least one member left after the other three teams were out would get the extra team member. The athletes won and will have an extra team member advantage.

We haven’t seen a whole week’s worth of activities yet, since the houseguests entered the house almost a week ago. So when we watch the live feeds and After Dark, we’ll get a heads up on what’s been happening since Jessie entered the game.

Big Brother 11: A Look Inside the House

There are only two more days left before the houseguests enter the Big Brother 11 house. This time, the house is very eco-friendly. And the good news for the houseguests is that it might give them some activities to keep them occupied a bit.

They’ll be growing some of their own vegetables & herbs, recycling things that they use and generally being more “green” in their everyday activities. It also looks like there’s a bit of an Asian theme going. There’s a lucky red Buddha statue and sake cups…I hope they don’t try to play beer pong with sake cups! They’ll never finish a game!

The pool table’s back again this year and there’s a swimming pool bedroom, a crazy-looking pink bedroom and the HOH bedroom looks great! Much better than the polished steel walls from last season. It looks like there’s a surf board and a wet suit in the HOH bathroom too. With all those live plants everywhere, I hope no one forgets to water them!

Next Food Network Star 5: Katie Goes Home

On last night’s episode of the Next Food Network Star, the chefs were given the challenge of taking adult foods (squid, Brussels sprouts, etc.) and making them foods that kids would eat. The judging panel included Rachel Ray and three expert kids.

Jamika stumbled during her presentation and didn’t finish before the time ended. Katie was really liked by the kids, but the Food Network judges thought she was boring and condescending. Michael also ran out of time, but everyone loved him anyway.

So when the Elimination Challenge was presented, three of the chefs were already nervous about the possibility of going home. The competitors were divided into teams of two and told to make a live presentation on the Rachel Ray Show where they would update kids’ favorites to be more adult foods.

Debbie & Katie, Melissa & Michael and Jeffrey & Jamika each gave their presentations. The judges told Debbie that she had won the challenge and then they told Michael, Jamika & Katie that they were the bottom three this week.

Jamika was certain that she would be sent home, but the judges told Katie that she was the one to go this week.

I’m happy that Jamika & Michael were safe for another week. They are both so likeable and I have grown to be fans of each of them and Melissa. But Michael will have to overcome his fear of the camera and Jamika will have to gain back her confidence to continue much longer.

Big Brother Press Day: Gunther Makes a First Impression

This video clip is hilarious! As a regular viewer of the Craig Ferguson Show, I instantly recognized Gunther the S&M guy, aka Chris. He was one of the people in the Big Brother 11 house for press day this year. Apparently, the other press people in the house hadn’t seen him on the show because they were all a bit shocked when he emerged in the outfit he wears every night on the show.

He says that he has a tough time sitting in the outfit because it’s so tight on him and it took him a few minutes to answer everyone’s questions and to put them at ease. LOL!

Among the things the Big Brother houseguests talk about is the infamous quiz. In this clip, Dan quizzed his fellow BB10 houseguests about all kinds of things. He found out which man in the house would make Ollie turn gay. And he found out who Memphis would create a drink for and what would be in it.

Big Brother 11: More About the New Houseguests

Here’s a clip where Julie Chen and executive producer Alison Grodner introduce us to the new Big Brother 11 houseguests. They give us the info about the high school cliques that will be in play this season.

Just from the clip, I think I already don’t like Braden and I think I’m already in love with Casey. And I think I already like Russell and Lydia. But we haven’t really seen them in the house and first impressions can be very wrong. I can’t wait until Thursday!

Big Brother 11: Some Twists Revealed

CBS has released a few of the twists we can look forward to in this season of Big Brother. First, as we saw in the revelation of the houseguests, there is a Mystery Houseguest that we don’t know about yet. That could prove to be interesting…

We are also told that the houseguests will fit into the four most common high school cliques. It looks like we can tell who the jocks, the popular people, the intellectuals and the artsy people are. I’m wondering which clique the Mystery person will fit into.

There were rumors out for a while saying that the season would be cut short this time, but CBS has confirmed that it will be 3 months long, as usual. Thank goodness! Here’s the latest promo for BB11 that gives each of the new houseguests a chance to tell us why we should watch:

Big Brother 11: Press Day POV Challenge

Since we only have 4 more days to wait for the premiere of Big Brother 11, some info is finally coming out about the season and the house.

This clip is so much fun! It’s the POV Challenge from the press day in the Big Brother 11 house. Among the people who got to be in the house for a day to help test out the cameras and sound levels were “Gunther, the S&M guy” from the Craig Ferguson Show and Jen from Big Brother 9. I don’t know if this challenge will be used during the season, but it’s a fun one. Check this out:
