On this week’s episode of The Fashion Show, the Harper’s Bazaar Mini challenge was to create a new and interesting style of shoe. They got to start with basic shoes, then add embellishments to make their own signature style.

If you’ve been watching, you know that Reco has become the Diva Extraordinaire. He thinks he is far above all the others in talent and creativity, and doesn’t mind letting them all know. Truthfully, he is amazingly talented and I love his work, but he’s not making any friends among the designers…

Reco’s team won, and Johnny had the best design. A version of his shoe design will be available for purchase on Bravo’s web site.

Next, the designers were sent to Bergdorf Goodman. They were given only 5 minutes to choose the perfect pair of shoes around which they would design an entire look. Angel was the only person who didn’t get a pair chosen in time, so they assigned her a yucky red, white & blue pair. Yikes!

For the first time, the designers were on their own, not working on teams. It was obvious that they were all thrilled to be able to do things on their own.

Morgan Spurlock Presents One Night with “30 Days”

June 20, 2007 by Lynn

Morgan Spurlock and R.J. Cutler

According to an article in Variety, Morgan Spurlock had a press conference to talk about the third season of 30 Days:

During their appearance spotlighting the FX series “30 Days” at the Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills on Tuesday evening, executive producers Morgan Spurlock and R.J. Cutler defended their program as a different kind of reality show — one that’s actually based in the truth…

…Spurlock concluded the evening commenting that despite the show’s title, experience has taught him that the key date of each episode comes about three weeks in, as participants who have been living on the edge start to hit the proverbial wall.

“That’s when one of two things happens,” Spurlock said. “At day 21, there will either be a breakdown or a breakthrough.”

And Reality Blurred reports that one of the two episodes that Spurlock will star in this season:

Yesterday, he revealed that, for the third season, he “will work as a coal miner in his native West Virginia.”

30 Days Will Return for a Third Season

December 16, 2006 by Lynn

Morgan Spurlock

Morgan Spurlock first got my attention when he decided to eat only McDonald food for 30 days. It was a daring experiment, especially for someone whose girlfriend was a vegan…that’s a totally different world. Then Spurlock created the FX series, 30 Days where he put people with two diametrically opposed views on a subject together for 30 days to see if they were changed by the experience.

For example, a homophobic man was sent to live in the guest room of a gay man in San Francisco for 30 days. He hung out with the man’s friends, got to know them and became a lot more tolerant in the process.

Then there was the technology worker who had lost his job to Indian outsourcing and was sent to India to live with a family doing US outsourcing, and he got a job for an outsourcing firm for 30 days. During his time there, he changed his views drastically and came home to the US with a very different attitude about outsourcing.

Every episode of the series tackles another issue and puts people together in an opportunity to grow. I have loved every single one of the first two seasons’ episodes and look forward to seeing what Spurlock comes up with for season three. I’ll write about it when the new season begins.
