The Amazing Race: The Blondes Go Home

The show began with the teams leaving the pit stop in Uagadougou in Africa. They found out that they would have to fly over 3000 miles to Vilnius, Lithuania. Once there, they would drive a marked van to a church to get the next clue.

The teams were told that they could only book the flights through the official airline ticketing counter and they got there before it opened. All the teams went to internet cafes to check for lights. Ron was back to his old ways of criticizing poor Christina for everything. Maybe his hernia was causing him pain….who knows?

Some of the teams thought they had to fastest flight and it landed in Lithuania at 2:20 pm. Others got a flight that landed in Lithuania at 1:25. Others were on yet another flight that arrived at 1:35. It will be interesting to see what difference the flight arrival time makes.
(follow the jump for the rest of the recap)

The blondes did yet another thing to alienate the other teams. At the ticket counter, they asked the others to step away from them so they could book their seats in private. Things were starting to get really nasty.

When they arrived at the church, they found that it was a Road Block that only one team member could perform. That person would have to become a Lithuanian messenger. They would have to find one of three women who would give them a package and tell them its destination. Once it was delivered, they would have to take another package to one of four destinations, Then a third package would have to be delivered correctly in order to get the next clue. The deliveries were all to be made on foot and seemed pretty confusing. Kynt finished it first.

The blondes were almost sideswiped by a bus. It was a close call, but really shook them up.

Next, the teams had to drive to the town of Rumšišk?s and find a Lithuanian outdoor ethnographic museum to find the next clue.

Apparently, Lithuania is the land of gnomes. Who knew? At the museum, teams had to find a Travelocity gnome to match the one depicted in their clue. There were also 100 different ones all around, so it was no easy task. Once they found him, they had to find the next clue. It was a Detour.

The Detour was a choice between Count Down and Step Up.

In Count Down, they had to find a certain picket fence and count every picket in it. Once they wrote down the correct number for a villager, they would get the next clue.

In Step Up, they would have to walk on stilts along a marked course to a finish line. IF they fell off before the finish line, they would have to go back to the beginning and start over.

Once they completed the Detour, the teams had to find their way on foot to a historic windmill that was the next pit stop. They arrived in this order:

  1. TK & Rachel (They won a 10 day trip to Japan)
  2. Kynt & Vyxsin
  3. Ron & Christina
  4. Azaria & Hendekea
  5. Nathan & Jennifer
  6. Nicholas & Donald
  7. Shana & Jennifer (They were eliminated)

There went the last possibility of an all female team winning this season. They just had too many disagreements and it got in the way of their game. But check back here tomorrow for my interview with Shana & Jennifer.
