Next Food Network Star: Two Sent Home

Tonight’s guest judge was last season’s winner, Guy Fieri. Since winning last season, he has begun his own Food Network show, Guy’s Big Bite.

He was joined by Darryl Dawkins, the NBA Legend, to judge the first challenge.

The contestants had 45 minutes to prepare a dish using chocolate, then had 30 seconds to present it to the camera and the judges, including a tip about using chocolate.

For the second challenge, they were each given $300 ad 45 minutes to go shopping for the ingredients to make food they would serve at a basketball game.

When they got back to the kitchen they had 90 minutes to make their stadium food. Then, they would each get a food cart to go around and get people to try their food.

Paul had a tough time during the second challenge. At the store, Colombe ended up with one of his bags of food in her cart and left it with the cashier. Then when they were all preparing their food, Paul was missing some of his ingredients. Adrian helped him out by giving him some of his extras, but he was frazzled by the whole mess.

Then, Colombe acted like she hadn’t done anything wrong when anyone tried to talk to her. She got the other cooks upset when she was inconsiderate of the process they were following too.

She did help Paul out eventually though, because she finished a few minutes early and went to help Paul prep.

But during the time at the stadium, Guy asked to check the food temperature of Paul’s burgers and they were not hot enough. Paul had to run back and forth to heat them to order. He was at a huge disadvantage y having to do all of that.

JAG was great! His food sounded terrific and there was a long line to get some.

Colombe just fixed regular nachos and people weren’t that interested.

Rory made a delicious looking Texas cheese steak. She also wore a very low-cut top to try to attract men to her cart. (I guess if you have it, use it…)

The fans voted for their favorites and gave their feedback.

When they got back to the kitchen, they knew that two of them were to be eliminated and the competition was getting very tough.

The winner of the chocolate challenge was JAG. (His food looked fabulous and he seems like a high-energy, fun guy.)

The winner of the NBA challenge was Adrian. That meant that both JAG and Adrian were safe from elimination. That’s great, because they are two of my favorites.

The judges told Michael that he was trying too hard to please and seemed a bit insincere.

Colombe

They told Colombe that she didn’t seem to have the right type of personality and she cut too many corners in her dishes.

Amy was told that she talked to fast in the chocolate challenge and the judges missed the tip. They also told her that her quesadillas were probably not right for New Jersey fans.

Rory was told that she needs to be more authoritative and that her cheese steak wasn’t very good.

Tommy

Tommy was missing his family a lot during the week of this episode, so he has had some problems keeping his spirits up. The judges told him that his personality just hadn’t been the same that week. They said that he had almost come across as seeming mad at them on camera. They said that the meatballs he had served at the game had been too large to eat in a sandwich.

Paul, who had a tough week, was told that his chocolate dish was great. They also liked his burger, in spite of the obstacles he had in order to serve it. They told him that his warmth was “being crushed by frenetic energy.” (Huh?)

When it all came down, the two people eliminated were Colombe and Tommy.

I totally agree with their decision. Paul had the frenetic energy because he was trying to overcome all the obstacles. Tommy was really ready to go home and Colombe is a train wreck.

So do you agree with the judges? Who do you think should have gone home? Who do you like the best? Leave a comment to let us know!
