Exclusive Interview With Kevin O’Connor of The Amazing Race: All-Stars
April 21, 2007 by Lynn
This week, I had the good fortune to get to do an exclusive interview with Kevin O’Connor, half of the Amazing Race team, Kevin & Drew. He’s a very friendly and funny guy, as you will easily learn when you listen to the interview. The file size was too large for one file, so I split it into two parts.
In this portion, he talks about the experience of being on The Amazing Race: All-Stars.
In this portion, he talks about his show, Kevin & Drew Unleashed and his stand-up comedy.
One of the many very interesting things you will learn about Kevin is the fact that he and his wife are expecting triplets (!!) in mid June. He promises to send me an update so I can share the great news with all of you, so be sure to check back!
Kevin is a mild-mannered accountant by day and a stand-up comedian by night. You can find out all the latest gigs he has scheduled by visitng his MySpace site at http://www.myspace.com/kevocomedy.
According to his bio on his MySpace site:
In the Summer of 2004, The Discovery Channel launched the series “Kevin and Drew Unleashed” on which my fraternity brother Drew Feinberg and I traveled around the country in an RV and performed offbeat jobs such as wrestling alligators, herding cattle, brewing beer and running a minor league baseball team.
I have also provided my insight into reality television as co-host of the Couch Potato segment on ESPN2’s “Cold Pizza” – and as a regular contributor to the show’s weekly movie review, “Cold Pizza and A Movie”.
In the Fall of 2001, Drew and I were selected to join the cast of the premiere season of the CBS global adventure reality series “The Amazing Race”. Entertainment Weekly described us as “the best platonic relationship since Butch and Sundance”. In addition, we were named “The Best of Reality Television” in Entertainment Weekly’s 2001 year-end annual.
In the premiere season of The Amazing Race, they came in fourth overall. They captured the hearts of America with their frat boys’ banter and their great personalities. The two even made a cameo appearance in the Family Edition of The Amazing Race. They were the hot dog vendors who handed out clues to the racers. According to Kevin, that makes them the only Amazing Race team to have appeared in three different seasons. (Be sure to tuck that away in your mental trivia files…)

Currently, he and his best buddy, Drew are one of the already eliminated teams in the current season of The Amazing Race: All-Stars. They, unfortunately, were the second team eliminated from the All-Stars race.
