How to Get Noticed by the People Casting for Survivor
Once again, Bruce Kanegai has offered us his wonderful, clever ideas about Survivor. His email to me this morning tells how he got his application for Survivor noticed by the people casting for the show. Here’s his tip:
Greetings from Exile Island;
When I decided to apply for Survivor, I figured 60-80 thousand applications were going to be sent in including the videos from the live auditions in many cities. My art students left unused acrylic paints in several periods each day. So, I designed a painting with the left-over paint for the front and back of a 16″x20″ envelope of my application. It worked, because the casting crew saw the envelope and took time to look at it. I’m told that it is displayed in one of the offices at SEG. You and your readers are the first to see my envelope.
Strong spirit and honor, Bruce Kanegai

I think it’s absolutely beautiful - and brilliant!! After all, it worked!!
Bruce, thanks so very much for sending this and sharing it with all of us!! You are wonderful!

Bruce, I’ve applied for Survivor now 4 times. Once in the live auditions that were taped here in Indianapolis last year. I need all the help I can get to get my application noticed now I guess. If it takes much longer, I’ll just be the taken weirdo old guy when they finally accept my application.

Currently, they are not casting. But keep checking back here, because I’ll let you know when they start casting again. :-)

I have interviewed for Survivor 6 times. S1 S3 S4 S7 S9 and S13. I personally do not think they look at all the apps and videos. There is not enough time in the day to view them all. The app picture, and video are the items that catch their eyes the most. I just wish I knew what they are looking for to be casted for the show. I have heard all the excuses why I have not been selected. Good Luck Wannabes!
