Beauty & the Geek 3: From Geek to Chic

by Lynn on January 21st, 2007

Matt & Andrea

The show began with Matt and Andrea returning to the group and letting them all know that they would be staying. Everyone was happy to see Matt, but had nothing to say to Andrea at all. (That whole brunette thing again…) And the blondes were happy that Sheree was eliminated.

Then the group gathered to find out about their latest challenges. The guys were told that they would be getting a complete makeover and the girls were told that they would have to study marketing and business. There were a lot of rolling eyes and panic stricken looks from both genders.

The guys had to go shopping all by themselves. The girls were supposed to play fashion consultant before they left.

Drew said that he wanted to be sure to get a watch with a calculator on it.

Niels said he wanted to get white alligator shoes with red flames on the side.

Nate asked if there is something he could wear that would make him sweat less because he said he sweats a lot. And then he told Cecille that he’s never worn deodorant in his life. (!!!)

Cecille didn’t know what he meant when he said that he likes to go ‘au naturale’.

Then Nate asked Cecile if he should get a mullet. OMG!!

Yes, they all have so very much to learn…

Niels said that he was told to go “slim & snug” so he shopped for shirts in the women’s section.

Back at the mansion, the girls did their usual study by the pool routine. Jennylee admitted to the girls that she had a crush on Nate…even before the makeover. I have to admit that he definitely seems the least socially impaired of he guys.

Mario was upset because the clothes at the boutique where they had to shop didn’t work well with his body type. He was thinking that he was not going to feel any better after the makeover at all.

Drew told the hairdresser that he considers the term ‘geek’ a compliment because he considers it another word for smart.

Jennylee

Then came the reveal. The girls thought Niels looked hot and he said he looked like a rock & roll peacock. (Whatever that is…)

Scooter looked great and Megan said they were going to push the beds back together.

They all looked fabulous!! Jennylee said that she became “twinkle-eyes”. Oh, she’s got it bad…

Then the group was told that the next day, the winner of the challenge would send both teams to the elimination room. What’s more, the girls would use their new marketing skills to auction off dates with the guys at a charity auction. The team that got the highest bid would win.

The girls started to coach the guys about how to smile, how to walk, what to say, how to say it….this would be tough.

The next day, Nate asked Drew to loan him some deodorant. Then he actually had to ask him how to use it. He was shocked that people do that every morning.

Mario & Nadia

First to be auctioned was Mario. He said he felt ok on the stage because he couldn’t see anyone in the audience without his glasses. Nadia said not only does he have his Master’s, but he knows how to “master” each and every one of you. (And this is a sales pitch?) The bidding stared with $1 and bidding closed for $10.

Scooter & Megan

Next, Scooter was on the block. Megan called him the “Harvard hottie” and said that he speaks Russian, French and a little dirty. Bidding started with $1 and ended with $15.

Matt & Andrea

Matt was next and Andrea told the crowd that he was a virgin, which brought lots of shrieks from the women in the audience. Bidding started at $15 and ended with $15.

Drew & Erin

Drew was next and Erin told the crowd that he was an investment king and was looking for his queen. Bidding started with $1 and ended with $22.

Nate & Cece

Then Cecile introduced Nate with a rhyme.

“This is Nate. He is great. He won’t make you late. He’ll pick you up at eight. So don’t wait to get your date. The one, the only, Great Nate.”

Bidding started with $1 and ended with $29.

Jennylee & Niels

Niels came next and Jennylee called him a hottie and made him show his washboard abs. Bidding started with $1 and ended with $32 making Niels and Jennylee won the challenge.

Then, the guys went on their dates. Everything was going along smoothly for everyone until Drew’s date asked him what kind of movies he likes. (Oh! No! Don’t say Star Trek!!) Luckily, he thought about his answer and told her “comedy.” Hurray for Drew!

Then Niels told his date that he keeps a Venus Flytrap as a “pet.” (No, no, no!)

Scooter started telling th camera about his views on the word “date.” Then, while he was explaining it, this scrolled across the bottom of the screen:

“BATG Advisory!!! This interview is more interesting than the actual date.”

What a hoot!

When they got back to the mansion, Nate & Scooter got in to a discussion with Cecille and Megan about the term “Geek.” Nate told them that none of the guys are geeks, they’re all just people. He said that the term “Geek” is something that was made up to divide people and that he thinks all labels put on people are wrong. (After that statement, Nate is now my absolute favorite in this show!! I think he’s fabulous!!)

Niles said he wanted to send Nate & Cece vs. Matt & Andrea. Of course, Jennylee was totally against sending Nate to the elimination room. She got totally mad at Niels for wanting to send Nate to elimination.

Then it was time for the choice of teams to go to elimination. Jennylee & Niels chose to send Andrea & Matt and Cecille & Nate. They were both in tears when they announced that Nate would be up for elimination.

There was a lot of tension between Jennylee and Andrea, then Jennylee told Andrea that she was more cool than Andrea. Andrea told her that she wasn’t uncool because she just was herself and was honest. (Meow!!)

Then came the trip to the elimination room. The guys would have to answer questions about men’s fashion and style. The girls would have to answer questions about business & marketing.

Cece got 2 questions correct. Nate got his first question correct, which gave the win to him and to Cece.

Andrea got no questions correct. Matt didn’t even get to answer a question, but was eliminated.

Now there are no brunettes left in the house. Nate, who everybody loves is still in the game and the guys look great for the first time. The season has a long way to go, but is playing out to be a very interesting one.

Are you glad to see Matt & Andrea leave? Would you have preferred that Nate & Cece go home instead? Do you have a favorite team to win the grand prize this season? Leave a comment and let us know!

Yeah, that’s too bad about Matt & Andrea. The Blonde/Brunette thing was tiring. Besides, I’m quite certain that we’ve not seen any of those girls actual, natural hair color –blonde or brunette.

    Excellent point!

I’m not very excited about the girls that are left, lots of narcism there…

The guys are pretty cool though.
