Queer Eye Will Air Its Final 10 Episodes in Summer 2007

It’s amazing to me how much TV and its viewers attitudes have evolved since the premiere of the first episode of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. I remember the show being considered controversial at first. Now no one seems to think it’s all that unique any more. It’s sad for the show, but great for everyone else. Sometimes it takes a trailblazing show like this to let us all see just how ridiculous stereotypes really are. When it all comes down, we are all just people after all.
I, for one, was happy to see a group of openly guy men show the world that style doesn’t have to be limited to a few people. It also showed that there are fewer differences in gay and straight people than some folks used to think.
However, all good things eventually must come to an end. The show has lived its course and now will end. The changes in the world’s attitudes will hopefully continue to change and become more open-minded even after the end of the show.
Bravo spotlights the summer of 2007 with the final season of one of TV’s most groundbreaking reality series, the Emmy Award-winning “Queer Eye,” which concludes its four-year run with 10 all-new episodes. “Queer Eye: The Final Season” is all heart as the Fab Five’s Ted Allen, Kyan Douglas, Thom Filicia, Carson Kressley and Jai Rodriguez continue their mission to “make-better” their subjects - ranging from a warring artsy family, to a monster truck-loving clutter bug, to a divorced dad biker dude, among others.
“Queer Eye: The Final Season” is a tribute to the Fab Five as well as the many lives they have touched over the years. In a not-to-be-missed special final episode, you’ll be sure to laugh, shed a tear, a few pounds and maybe some unwanted facial hair.
Thanks to Bravo and the cast of Queer Eye for breaking new ground and moving us all a little closer to better understanding. Thanks, Fab Five for opening the eyes of everyone to greater awareness and acceptance! You will all be missed.
