Series Premiere: High Maintenance 90210
I watched the series premiere of the new E! reality show, High Maintenance 90210 reluctantly. After the train wreck that was House of Carters, I was not ready to jump aboard another ship, destined to sink… Oh, did I mention that I hate watching the juvenile narcissists that are the Carter family?
But then, I was pleasantly surprised to really enjoy the new show, High Maintenance 90210. Instead of a bunch of jaded housekeepers telling the camera of all their indignities, while scrubbing a tiolet, I was happy to see an intelligent show with a real premise.
It’s about a talent agency for household help (nannies, butlers, chefs, etc.) and the people they represent. In the premiere episode, we followed the three interviews of an aspiring professional butler and ultimately, the results of his interviews. Hint: it’s a happy ending.
We also got to see an actress’s disastrous first day as a nanny. She got a call from her agent to go for a casting call for a show featuring human sacrifices and she not-so-brilliantly decided to take her new charge along with her. The four-year-old told his parents about her taking him someplace where there were sacrifices…and, well, you should watch to see what happens as a result.
I found myself thoroughly entertained by the unusual personalities of the employers and of the talent. I’ve set a “Season Pass” for the show on my TiVo. I suggest you consider doing the same. Enjoy!
