30 Days Will Return for a Third Season

by Lynn on December 16th, 2006

Morgan Spurlock

Morgan Spurlock first got my attention when he decided to eat only McDonald food for 30 days. It was a daring experiment, especially for someone whose girlfriend was a vegan…that’s a totally different world. Then Spurlock created the FX series, 30 Days where he put people with two diametrically opposed views on a subject together for 30 days to see if they were changed by the experience.

For example, a homophobic man was sent to live in the guest room of a gay man in San Francisco for 30 days. He hung out with the man’s friends, got to know them and became a lot more tolerant in the process.

Then there was the technology worker who had lost his job to Indian outsourcing and was sent to India to live with a family doing US outsourcing, and he got a job for an outsourcing firm for 30 days. During his time there, he changed his views drastically and came home to the US with a very different attitude about outsourcing.

Every episode of the series tackles another issue and puts people together in an opportunity to grow. I have loved every single one of the first two seasons’ episodes and look forward to seeing what Spurlock comes up with for season three. I’ll write about it when the new season begins.
