Survivor: Cook Islands - Jonathan Gets the Boot
The show began on night #30 with Jonathan attempting to justify his actions. He was bitter about being called a rat and a cancer at the tribal counsel. I guess he just needs to get a grip and realize that he created his own situation by betraying everyone in the game.

Then, Parvati was chopping coconuts and cut her hand pretty badly. When the medical person arrived, he told her that the good news was that she wouldn’t need to cut her thumbnail for a while. The bad news was that she needed a stitch to hold it together. He proceeded to give her a local anaesthetic and do the stitch right there on the beach. (Not exactly sterile technique, but hey, she’s going for a million dollars, so what is she going to do?
Then came the reward challenge. The winner would get to go to another island for a special picnic in a ceremonial cave with a loved one from home. (Not exactly the best time to get stitches one’s thumb..) When the family members came out to hug the players, there wasn’t a dry eye on the beach (or in my living room.)
Not only that, but the family members had to partner up with the players for the challenge. Talk about pressure!
Parvati and her dad won the reward. She sent Jonathan to exile island. (Big surprise.) Then, without any input from Parvati, her dad had to choose two other survivors and their loved ones to join them. He chose Sundra and her mother and Adam and his dad. The rest of the loved ones had to leave by themselves.
Cool twist. Parvati’s dad didn’t know any of the politics of the tribe when he had to choose the companions. I like the creativity of it.
The tribe mates left at the camp, Ozzy, Yul and Becky decided to hide some of the food and stop cooking for the others. Then Adam showed up with leftover food from the picnic. The hiding plan went away.

Next came the immunity challenge. Once again, Ozzy was the superstar and left the others in the dust. Yul gave him a run for his money, but Ozzy won immunity. That means that neither Yul (he has the immunity idol.) or Ozzy could go home that night. (Woo-hoo! Those are my favorites!)
At the tribal counsel, Jonathan spent the most time trying to justify himself again. Then, the tribe voted Jonathan out. It looked like everyone in the tribe and on the jury was happy with the choice, except for Jonathan.
I’m not sure why they got rid of him instead of Adam. Jonathan is the person to keep until everyone else is gone except the alliance. Who knows? Maybe they all just got tired of him. Or maybe the leftover chicken was a worthwhile bribe after all. Who knows what a month on an island with a poor menu and poor hygiene opportunities will do to one’s thinking.
So what do you think of the elimination of Jonathan? Who do you think will win? Leave a comment to let us know!
