Season Premiere: The Best Places to Find Cash & Treasures
I have found a new great reality TV show!! Doggone it if the Travel Channel hasn’t done it again. The new show is called The Best Places to Find Cash & Treasures and is hosted by Becky Worley. She’s a fun person that explains the details of how we, the viewers can go find treasures of our own.
The first episode showed her in a sunstone mine in Oregon where she first learned about the characteristics of the stones, then how to find them, then we followed her to meet with a gem cutter, we watched the largest stone being cut, then she took us with her to a New York auction house where a gem specialist appraised her largest stone. She then told us that the stone she found in the first day of the mine sold for $5,200!
Ok, I’m a jewelry designer and I’m ready to pack up and take a vacation in Oregon to look for sunstones!! I even have a bit of experience under my belt from when I was a teenager and my family went gem hunting at a mine in North Carolina. Just watching the show, I’ve got the bug.
Right after the first episode, the second aired and showed us how to pan for gold in Northern California. I’m not so interested in that, but for those who have the interest, you can visit both mines and get the stone and the gold to set it in, all in one week of mining.
I don’t know what other treasures she plans to show us how to find, But I’ve been hooked into continuing to watch the show. If you are a person like me that loves new experiences and adventures, this might be a show you’d want to watch too. And maybe I’ll see you at the mine! ;-)
