Christian Siriano is Still Fierce!

February 8, 2010 by Lynn

This week, fashion designer and Project Runway winner Christian Siriano was spotted by paparazzi as he enjoyed a night out in New York City. The black trenchcoat and overall look he wore fits perfectly with the signature Christian style we all grew to love on the show. He’s definitely still looking fierce! ;-)

Launch My Line Recap: Season Finale

February 4, 2010 by Lynn

[Bravo Photos: Pete Tangen/© 2010 NBC Universal, Inc.]

On last night’s season finale of Launch My Line, we found out that Kathy Rose was the designer whose line has been launched. You can buy her new clothing line on RueLaLa. You’ll have to create an account to see the clothing, but if you are a real shopper, it shouldn’t matter.

I did like Kathy’s line the best, but expected Merle to win it. And I would have been happy for any of the final three to win since all three collections were impressive.

Since Kathy’s expert was Emil Gampe, he was given a cash prize too. Here’s a photo of Kathy & Emil with the winning line.

I really enjoyed this season of Launch My Line! I hope there’s a second season. What did you think of the show?

Biggest Loser Recap: Return of the Home Teams

February 3, 2010 by Lynn

[Photos: © 2010 NBC Universal, Inc.]

On his week’s episode of the Biggest Loser, the Blue team and the Yellow team returned to the ranch to weigh in. The rest of the teams were shocked that one of the home teams would be able to return to the ranch and compete.

First the two returning teams went through a torturous Last Chance Workout led by Bob & Jillian, then they went to weigh in. Here were the weigh-in results for the Yellow & Blue teams:

Team Person Prev. Wt. Curr. Wt. # Loss Team Loss %
Blue Cherita 277 253 -24 -63 9.92%
Victoria 358 319 -39
Yellow Sunshine 275 250 -25 -76 11.45%
O’Neal 389 338 -51

The results from both home teams were incredible! Since the Yellow team won the weigh-in, they had immunity for the week, but they also had the only elimination vote for the week. Yikes!

Meanwhile, Miggy had to be rushed to the hospital and had an emergency appendectomy. When she got back to the ranch, she couldn’t workout at all, except for walking. So the first day after surgery, she walked 13 miles. Dr. H told Miggy that she had about 8-9 lbs. of salt water pumped into her body during surgery, so she would have an extra burden to lose it that week.

The teams went to a field to do a challenge to tie-in with the Superbowl. One person from each team had to hit a blocking dummy 1000 times. The first to finish won immunity for the week. Mike won it for the White team, so he’s not going home yet.

Unfortunately, the Pink team came in last, so they were given a 2-lb. disadvantage.

Here were the results of the second weigh-in on the episode:

Here’s how the weigh-in went this week:

Team Person Prev. Wt. Curr. Wt. # Loss Team Loss %
Yellow
(immunity)
Sunshine 250 245 -5 -10 1.70%
O’Neal 338 333 -5
Gray Sam 320 310 -10 -16 2.42%
Koli 341 335 -6
Green Miggy 211 206 -5 -5 2.37%
Black Andrea 267 262 -5 -13 2.10%
Darrell 351 343 -8
Orange Cheryl 197 194 -3 -15 3.05%
Daris 295 283 -12
Brown John 427 421 -6 -6 1.02%
Purple Stephanie 230 225 -5 -5 2.17%

Red

Melissa 203 198 -5 -9 1.73%
Lance 318 314 -4
White
(immunity)
Michael 456 443 -13 -13 2.85%
Pink
(2 lb. extra)
Sherry 186 180 -6 -15 2.54%
Ashley 326 317 -9

John was below the yellow line, so he was the one to go home. There was no need for a vote.

I was sad to see John go home, since he seems like such a cool guy. But luckily he has his twin brother to help keep him motivated.

Shear Genius: Get Ready for Season 3

February 2, 2010 by Lynn

Several days ago, I got the chance to talk to Kim Vo & Camila Alvez from Shear Genius season 3. They were both so incredibly sweet and they shared some information about the new season of the show that premieres on Bravo tomorrow night at 10/9c.

Kim says that this season, more than in previous seasons, the challenges will be like real-world problems facing celebrity stylists every day. Thank goodness we won’t have to see the contestant style dogs or shear sheep… :-)

Camila says that she’ll be adding a new twist to each challenge too by having her own hair styled in a way that she gives a hint about the challenge. It could be a lot of fun to see the different ways that she can have her hair styled.

She’s like many of us in the world and has naturally very curly hair. I’m hoping to get some styling ideas from her.

The other great new dimension to this season is the fact that they searched all over the world to get a very international mix of stylists to compete.

I’m looking forward to seeing what they have in store for us. Especially since Kim Vo promises that a room full of stylists is bound to bring lots of drama!

Heidi Klum Looked Hot on the Red Carpet

February 1, 2010 by Lynn

Heidi Klum was at last night’s Grammy Awards to cheer on her husband Seal when he was a presenter fro the show. Fans of Project Runway know that Heidi just recently gave birth to yet another baby. But there whe was on the red carpet in a mini dress, looking amazing!

Most of the world would love to know how she gets back to looking so fantastic so quickly after having a baby. She’s amazing!

Kathy Griffin Didn’t Win Another Emmy

February 1, 2010 by Lynn

Once again, Kathy Griffin had a Grammy nomination for Best Comedy Recording. Unfortunately for Kathy, the award went to Stephen Colbert.

Kathy acted quite disappointed when the winner was announced, and I’m sure we’ll see much, much more about last night’s Grammy Awards on the next season of Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List. At least I hope so! I love the show!

Reality Stars Showed No Class on the Red Carpet

February 1, 2010 by Lynn

I’m not a fan of the reality show Jersey Shore. I understand that a lot of people like the show, but I just don’t get it. (Sorry!)

Yesterday, two of the “stars” of that show were on the red carpet at the Grammy Awards. And from these photos, you can tell that neither one has one ounce of class. Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi posed like a mindless bimbo and Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino unbuttoned his shirt on the red carpet. Neither one did anything to improve their image at all!

Launch My Line Recap: Finale, Part 1

January 30, 2010 by Lynn

LaunchML-banner-1-20-10
[Bravo Photos: Pete Tangen/© 2009 NBC Universal, Inc.]

This week’s first part of the Launch My Line season finale was when the designers got their final challenge and got two extra experts to help them finish their lines.

Each designer had to create 3 new looks and rework any of their existing looks that needed changes. And they only had a couple of days to do it. There was a ton of stress and even the experts were buckling under the pressure.

Overall, it was an episode that should have been the first half of the season finale and it all should have been made into just one episode. But that’s just my opinion. We got to see a lot of unfinished garments and frustrated designers, but not much more. We’ll have to wait for the second part of the season finale when it airs this Wednesday.

Be sure to watch the Launch My Line season finale, part 2 when it airs on Bravo on Wednesday, February 3 at 9/8c.

Biggest Loser Recap: Rewards & Responsibilities

January 27, 2010 by Lynn

BiggestLoser-1-26-10
[Photos: © 2010 NBC Universal, Inc.]

On last night’s episode of the Biggest Loser, Alison Sweeney surprised the contestants with a very important pop challenge at the beginning of the week. They had to run a mile to get a key card, then run back to see if it was one of the few to give them a point. The first team to get 3 points with the cards would get immunity…and have to assign some disadvantages to the other teams.

Much to some of the other teams’ disgust, the Red Team won immunity. Then they had to assign to disadvantages. They told John that he would not be allowed into the gym all week. Mike would not be able to vote this week for the elimination. And they gave a 2 lb. disadvantage to the Green Team.

The Green Team, Miggy & Migdalia had been showing some bad attitude already toward the Red Team, but this just made things nastier.

The big drama this week was over the fact that Melissa hadn’t lost anything for two weeks in a row. Both trainers felt that she threw the weigh-ins because she knew her loss wouldn’t count. She was offended that they didn’t believe her. Jillian predicted that this week, she would lose a lot in order to try to make herself look better about the situation.

Mike really stepped up this week and put his whole heart into his workouts.

Then came the big [and I do mean BIG] challenge for the week. The team to get their platform to the top of the crane first would get phone calls home and the ability to give three other teams a phone call home.

The Gray Team was awesome. They won the challenge and they decided to give the calls to John because he has a baby at home, the Green Team, because Migdalia had kids at home and her husband would be leaving for Afghanistan before she might get back and to the Red Team because both parents were at the ranch and their kids were at home. These seemed like the perfect choices to me.

Here’s how the weigh-in went this week:

Team Person Prev. Wt. Curr. Wt. # Loss Team Loss %
Gray Sam 334 320 -14 -26 3.78%
Koli 353 341 -12
Green
(2 lb. extra)
Migdalia 237 233 -4 -5 .67%
Miggy 212 211 -1
Black Andrea 272 267 -5 -15 2.37%
Darrell 361 351 -10
Orange Cheryl 203 197 -6 -12 2.38%
Daris 301 295 -6
Brown John 437 427 -10 -10 2.29%
Purple Stephanie 236 230 -6 -6 2.54%

Red
(immunity)

Melissa 214 203 -11 -17 3.16%
Lance 324 318 -6
White Michael 471 456 -15 -15 3.18%
Pink Sherry 190 186 -4 -11 2.10%
Ashley 333 326 -7
Migdalia-elim
[Photo: © 2010 NBC Universal, Inc.]

The Green Team was below the yellow line, soo ne of them would have to go home. There was still a lot of animosity on the part of the Green Team toward the Red Team, and Migdalia just announced to the others that she wanted to go home. The others voted and she Migdalia the one sent home.

It seemed like a good thing for her to go home. She seems like she’s much happier with her children and she got to see her husband before he shipped out. I hope she can do what she needs to do to lose the weight at home.

What did you think of this week’s episode? Is it just me, or does Melissa remind anyone else of last season’s Tracey?

Get Ready for the Dog Lover’s Dream Reality Show!

January 27, 2010 by Lynn

Here’s great news for dog lovers! The 134th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show will air live on Monday, February 15th (Presidents’ Day) from 9PM-11PM ET. The show will repeat at 12AM ET.

I realize that it’s not your typical sort of reality show, but it is real and I love reality competitions. So reality competition fans who also love dogs, should tune in for this. Even though I used to show collies when I was younger, I never get tired of learning about all the breeds in the shows.

My beautiful collie Rufus loves to watch too! ;-)
